Kerry Moore:

Kerry was born in West Bromwich, the home of Jensen cars, in November 1960.

West Bromwich is located in an area known as the Black Country due to it's industrial past, which left everything covered in a grimy black coating. West Bromwich certainly lived up to this name.

Jensen cars added excitement  to a depressed industrial area, with the rich and famous attending the factory to collect their cars. The excitement of walking to the factory to see the cars, and the stories from family members who worked at Jensen, was the start of the interest in Jensen ownership.

After completing an apprenticeship in electrical and electronic engineering, Kerry worked in various engineering disciplines until retirement in 2021.

A move from the Black Country to rural Worcestershire in 2002 paved the way for buying a Jensen. The cottage came with a garage, which looked lonely with nothing parked in it...

The original plan was to buy a Caterham (a modern version of the classic 1960's Lotus 7 two seater sports car). Visions of imminent death in a fire ball led to the purchase of something a little more sturdy...

After trawling the Internet for information, an E-mail to (now sadly late) Richard Calver, the Jensen historian and author of the Jensen chassis data book, led to a trip to London to see a 1973 Interceptor 3, chassis number 136-8779.  It was only later that it was found out that Richard Calver lives in Australia, and he was giving information on cars for sale in the UK!  The power of the Internet indeed.

It seems since his passing away that his web site is no longer being maintained.

The owner of the Interceptor was selling the car to finance the restoration of his Jensen CV8, and the Interceptor changed hands for the princely sum of  £6750, and a childhood dream finally became a reality!
