The club members met at the 25th West Bromwich classic car
show in 2003, which went on to become the Jensen Owners Club Interceptor
day.
By pure coincidence, the 3 cars were
placed side by side, and and as we didn't know anyone else, a conversation was
struck up.
An offer of assistance with a
fault on a car has led to the regular meetings on Monday's to pool
expertise and resources, and keep the 3 cars in good condition.
It has become an antidote to
the stresses of working life, and rather than it being a dreaded Monday
morning at work, it has become a great day with the cars. It has also
led to exciting plans for the cars and excellent social gatherings.
It was pure coincidence that the
cars were all "J" series Mk3's, built in 1973. In fact two of the
cars are only 22 chassis numbers apart (136-8779 and 136-8801), and it's
also a co-incidence the owners are all of a "Classic" age.
Chris has now changed to a MkII car,
but this is getting the full Monday Club treatment.
With the combined skills of the
members, a love of bacon butties, and a burning passion not to work on
Mondays, the club has become an integral part on the Jensen ownership
experience.
The Friday club is only a
lottery win away...
