There has been a change of format for the major Jensen event this year, with the International and the concours events being held separately an not combined as in years past. This has been well received by some, but others have reacted not so well. I missed the International, so at least this way it gave me a second chance to go to a major event. It was being held at Ragley Hall, which is a stately home built in the last 1600's, and still the private residence on the 9th Marquess of Hertford and his family. I arrived a little late (no excuses as it only 10 minutes drive from my cottage!), and was ushered into the non concours section as I wasn't bothering entering. The car had had a once over, but was not in concours condition, so no big deal.
After a quick walk around to say hello to Steve Payne and Neil Brookes, I took some snaps of the house and gardens. As Chris Miller is on holiday in Florida, there are no shots of him stuffing his face.
After a cup of tea and some rather good cake, it was time to look at some cars. These were not entered into concours.
And then onto the concours cars.
Neil Brookes has very kindly done a barbeque, and had to be restrained from adding one of the houses peacocks to the burgers and sausages!
I had to leave before the end, so no judging results, but the weather was great, the venue spot on, and a nice relaxed afternoon. Burgers and cakes as well. What's not to like :0)
