Well, that's been an interesting couple of years! More than a couple truth be known, but with Covid, one of us retiring, house moves and all the other non sense life throws at us, the Monday Club has been a bit thin on the ground. Now that life is back to "Normal", it was time for a meet up and take the cars out. We picked a November day in 2022, and all met up at "Caffeine and Machine" near Stratford upon Avon, home of William Shakespeare. As the name suggests, coffee and tea are on the menu, along with bacon butties, and interesting cars, so a good venue for a meet up. It's an old country pub that has been converted into a car based cafe/restaurant, so a bit like ACE Cafe in London I'd pretty much forgotten how I used to take photos and mentally plan the previous web pages, so this one is going to be short!
Fair warning! Someone turned up in a Ford, and another a 383 MKII. Leave now if you are easily offended!
Steve and Chris in good spirits Steve had a 3 litre V6 Ford Capri as young fella and really liked the car, so when he saw one for a good price in excellent, largely unrestored condition, he snapped it up. It is in excellent condition and a fantastic car.
And Chris had brought his MKII, which is looking pretty sharp
And of course, my MKIII
After copious amounts of tea and coffee, and bacon butties, we had a look around the place
The resident Porsche 912
A super tasty modern Alpine
A collection of Porches
Inside the fantastic tents on site As mentioned, I'm a bit out of practice, but a decent start back into things, and a great day out. |
